Economics and Policy welcomes outside contributions from researchers in Canada and abroad. Please read the following before sending us your article.

We publish articles that may be of interest to policymakers and the informed public. Although we are interested in articles that summarize or discuss quantitative research, we are not interested in publishing material that is overly technical on the blog.

In particular, we are interested in the following types of articles:

  1. Summaries of recent academic research on a policy relevant topic. The research on which the article is based should be quantitative in nature, published or intended to be published in an academic outlet such as a peer reviewed journal or book. Such an article should emphasize the policy contribution of the research.
  2. Expert discussion of policy that is informed by research (whether it is the author’s own research, or the research of others). Such an article may provide an informed overview of a policy debate or proposal, or a research-based argument in favor or against a certain policy.
  3. New analysis that is not overly technical, and may be of interest to policymakers, and other non-academic readers of academic blogs.

Please send potential contributions to cotton “at” econ.queensu.ca with “Economics and Policy Contribution” in the subject line.
